Elevate Your Wellness

Hormone balance is key to a woman’s overall wellness. At Woodlands Medical Aesthetics Institute in The Woodlands, TX, serving Spring, Conroe, and neighboring areas, we offer bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) with hormone pellets to help you achieve that equilibrium.

Hormone imbalance can manifest in symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, fatigue, and mood swings. BHRT has helped many women improve their quality of life. Our team is committed to helping you achieve optimal health with a personalized treatment plan designed to restore hormonal balance and improve your overall wellness.

What Is the Goal of Hormone Optimization Therapy in Women?

Women experience a decline in hormone levels as they age—particularly estrogen and progesterone. This can cause a range of symptoms that BHRT aims to alleviate. In many cases, BHRT can restore hormone levels to the those that women enjoyed during their reproductive years.

What Are Bioidentical Hormones?

Bioidentical hormones are identical in structure to those naturally produced in the human body. For this reason, they are believed to be better tolerated by the body than synthetic hormones.

What Symptoms Can BHRT Treat?

BHRT can help alleviate the following symptoms of hormone imbalance in women:

  • Hot flashes
  • Night sweats
  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • Insomnia
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Low libido
  • Memory lapses
  • Weight gain
  • Loss of muscle mass
  • Thinning bones

  • Reduced risk of heart disease and stroke

What Can Female Patients Expect from BHRT With Hormone Pellets?

BHRT can be administered through various methods, including pills, creams, and injections. At Woodlands Medical Aesthetics Institute, we use hormone pellets. These pellets are about the size of a grain of rice and are inserted under the skin, typically in the hip area. The pellets slowly release hormones into the body over the course of several months, providing a sustained release of hormones.

Patients who receive hormone pellets can expect fewer side effects than other forms of hormone replacement therapy and a more consistent level of hormone release than other forms of hormone replacement therapy.

What Is BHRT Treatment Like?

The BHRT treatment process generally involves the following three steps:

  • Hormone levels are tested: During your initial appointment, we will conduct hormone testing to evaluate your current hormone levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • The pellet implant is inserted: At your follow-up appointment, we will review the results of your hormone tests and may insert your BHRT pellet implant during this visit. Once inserted, the pellets will begin optimizing your hormone levels within 7 to 10 days.
  • Continued follow-up rounds are scheduled as needed: Depending on your absorption rate, you may need another round of BHRT pellets inserted every 3 to 6 months.

At Woodlands Medical Aesthetics Institute, we are committed to helping our patients achieve optimal health and wellness. Our experienced team will work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs.
