Tighten Loose Skin Without Surgery

Ultherapy®, available in The Woodlands, TX, is a nonsurgical, non-invasive treatment that uses ultrasound and the body’s natural healing process to lift and tighten loose skin. We use Ultherapy® to rejuvenate the brow area, under the chin, the neck, and the décolletage (upper chest). At Woodlands Medical Aesthetics Institute, serving men and women from Spring, Conroe, and the surrounding areas, we customize Ultherapy® treatments and will target specific areas like puffy and crepey eyes, thick jowls, and saggy chins.

Why Ultherapy?

Ultherapy® is the only FDA-cleared procedure using ultrasound energy to stimulate the structural support layers of the skin without distressing the surface of the skin. The Ultherapy® procedure increases the natural process of creating new, more elastic collagen over time.

Combining Treatments

You’ll see better, longer-lasting results if you have Ultherapy® before BOTOX® Cosmetic or dermal filler treatments.

Natural Results. No Downtime.

Ultherapy is a 60 to 90-minute office procedure. Afterward, you can go about your day without any downtime. You may notice a short-term “boost” in the appearance of the skin, but the actual improvements will build over the course of 2 to 3 months. Many patients have reported continued improvement for up to 6 months after the treatment.

How It Works

A smooth handpiece is placed on the skin, delivering tiny deposits of focused ultrasound energy below the surface. The foundational layer of the skin that is treated is the same layer that is addressed in a surgical facelift. The response to this energy is to recondition tired skin by stimulating the growth of fresh, new collagen. As the collagen develops, the result is a gradual tightening and lifting of the skin back into a more youthful position.

Preparing for Your Treatment

Before your Ultherapy appointment, adhere to the following guidelines to ensure the safest, smoothest treatment and recovery possible:

1 Week Before

  • Stop taking medication or supplements that cause the blood to thin, such as aspirin and ibuprofen. (If you are taking this medication at the direction of your physician, check with your health care provider before discontinuing.)

3 to 5 Days Before

  • Avoid direct sun exposure to the treatment area.
  • Stop using Retinol, salicylic acid, or other abrasive treatments.

24 Hours Before

  • Do not drink caffeine or alcohol.

What To Avoid After Ultherapy

While Ultherapy doesn’t require any downtime after treatment, you should follow these precautions:

First 24 Hours

  • Don’t apply makeup to the treatment area.
  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol.

First 2 to 3 Days

  • Avoid excessive heat, including that caused by strenuous exercise.

First 2 Weeks

  • Do not expose your skin to direct sunlight.

Ultherapy FAQs

Does Ultherapy actually work?

Yes! Ultherapy effectively stimulates collagen production, leading to a gradual improvement in skin laxity, sagging, and the appearance of crepey skin.

How long will my results last?

Results from Ultherapy can vary from person to person, but they typically last around 2 years, with some patients able to go 5 years before a follow-up treatment.

Is the procedure painful?

You will feel a heating sensation during the treatment, but any discomfort should be mild. Ultherapy is generally well-tolerated by most patients.

Does Ultherapy work on jowls?

Yes, Ultherapy can target sagging jowls and improve the definition of the jawline. It lifts and tightens the skin by boosting collagen and elastin production, the building blocks of firm, supple skin.

Will Ultherapy work on older skin?

There is no age limit for Ultherapy. Patients in their 30s to 50s generally see the best results due to greater skin elasticity. However, older patients can smooth crepey skin and treat skin laxity and sagging with Ultherapy.
